Privacy Policy — Remindwell
Remindwell (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Remindwell mobile application (the “App”) collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Remindwell is built to collect minimal information and to work offline where possible. The types of data we handle include:
- Product & Expiry Data: Product names, categories, expiry dates, notes, and any other item details you enter into the App. This data is stored locally on your device by default.
- Device & Usage Data: Non-identifying technical information collected automatically (for example, app version and crash logs) if you opt into crash reporting or analytics.
- Notifications: Local notification scheduling data used solely to trigger expiry reminders.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data only to provide and improve the App’s core features:
- Send timely reminders about upcoming product expiries.
- Organize and present your saved items inside the App.
- Optionally, to diagnose errors or crashes if you enable crash reporting.
3. Data Storage & Retention
By default, all user-entered product and expiry data is stored locally on your device. If you choose to use any backup or sync feature (if available), that data may be stored in the backup location you select; such storage will be disclosed at the point you enable it.
If you uninstall the App, local data will be removed from your device. We keep technical logs (like crash reports) only as long as necessary to diagnose and fix issues if you opt in to sending them.
4. Sharing & Third-Party Services
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We will not share your product/expiry data with third parties except:
- When you explicitly authorize a backup, export, or sync to a third-party service.
- To comply with legal obligations or valid requests from law enforcement.
Note: We may use trusted third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, or push notifications (for example, Google Firebase for notifications). These services may collect limited, non-identifying technical information according to their own privacy policies.
5. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect data on the device and transmitted to third-party services (if any). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure—please use device-level protections (PIN, biometric lock) for added safety.
6. Children’s Privacy
Remindwell is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the App, please contact us to request deletion.
7. Your Rights & Controls
Because your product and expiry data is stored locally, you have direct control over it. Typical controls include:
- Edit or delete individual items inside the App at any time.
- Uninstall the App to remove local data from your device.
- If a backup/sync feature is used, revoke access or delete the backup from the backup provider.
8. International Transfers
If you enable backup or cloud sync with third-party providers, your data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own. Those providers’ privacy policies govern those transfers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users inside the App or via the Play Store listing.
